Mental Health, Substance Use, HIV and hepatitis C

Mental health and well-being should be within every person’s reach, but we recognize this isn’t the case. Poverty, trauma, loss, racism, problematic substance use, and other forms of suffering (social determinants of health) can impact mental health and well-being.

  • Though the communities in our province are very diverse, there are many similar issues facing people living with, or at risk for contracting HIV and other communicable illnesses such as hepatitis C. Many community members experience barriers in accessing mental health support. The Pacific AIDS Network (PAN) is committed to working with communities and frontline workers to strengthen our awareness of mental health and well-being.
