Community Exchange Meeting: Bridging the Gap in HIV

You are invited to Gilead’s upcoming Community Exchange Meeting: Bridging the Gap in HIV, which will be held on Zoom on Wednesday, September 22 from 7-9 AM Pacific time.

This meeting will bring international community group representatives together to discuss needs and existing barriers, identify innovative solutions, and share best practices to address health inequities and quality of life drivers for people living with HIV. After opening remarks from Alex Kalomparis of Gilead and a plenary talk from breakout session 2 speaker, Lucy Wanjiku Njenga, attendees will join one of two breakout sessions.

Two breakout sessions will give opportunity for a deep dive into conversation and will run in tandem:

Session 1:

How we can work together to leverage community-based participatory approaches to achieve health equity for all, with a specific look at migrant and minority populations.

Moderator: Tamás Bereczky, PhD (Patvocates). Confirmed Speakers: Denis Onyango (Africa Advocacy Foundation), Satrio Nindyo Istiko (The University of Queensland), Sradhanand Sital (Global Human Rights Defence), and Jose Mejía (METRO Charity, National AIDS Trust).

Session 2:

How we can work together to address health inequity and redefine what treatment success means for people living with HIV globally, beyond an undetectable viral load.

Moderator: Prof. Jeffrey Lazarus, PhD, MIH, MA (HIV Outcomes Coalition, ISGlobal, University of Barcelona). Confirmed Speakers: Erika Castellanos (GATE), Lucy Wanjiku Njenga (Positive Young Women Voices), Morris Singletary (PoZitive2PoSitive), and Nikos Dedes (Positive Voice, Greek Association of PLHIV).
