Job Posting: Provincial Director, BC Poverty Reduction Coalition

Overview

The BC Poverty Reduction Coalition (the Coalition) is moving through an important renewal phase and is recruiting for a new Provincial Director to bring strong management and leadership both through and beyond the Coalition’s transition to a new organizational structure with a revitalized vision, mission, and strategic direction. A strong, collaborative leader and accomplished manager, the Provincial Director works in partnership with the Coalition’s Steering Committee to provide leadership and guidance to the visioning, planning, coordination and delivery of the Coalition’s work.

The Provincial Director will be the face of the Coalition, leading progressive policy advocacy and developing the Coalition’s efforts towards a comprehensive poverty reduction approach in BC. The Provincial Director will keep up-to-date on research and public policy that addresses poverty issues in BC and poverty reduction initiatives across the country, and have an excellent knowledge of the political context within the province.

Additionally, the Provincial Director will be responsible for day-to-day operations, including member engagement and outreach, communications, and financial and program oversight. The Provincial Director will have input into shaping other staff or contractor roles required to support all aspects of the Coalition’s operations and management.
