Call for Abstracts and Workshop Outlines: CANAC Conference

The Canadian Association of Nurses in HIV/AIDS Care (CANAC) is a national professional nursing organization committed to fostering excellence in HIV/AIDS nursing, promoting the health, rights and dignity of persons affected by HIV/AIDS and to preventing the spread of HIV infection. CANAC’s members hail from all regions of Canada working in clinical practice, education, research and/or administration.

CANAC will hold its 27th annual conference. It will be held on April 25-27th, 2019, titled “Tradition + Innovation, Informing Today’s HIV care.” This year’s conference program will focus on informing and updating issues in HIV care today along with a pre-conference day on how London strategized and collaborated in themidst of an unprecedented HIV and hepatitis C crisis. The program will include presentations on HIV & Aging, Women & HIV, policy development and advocacy.

The Conference Planning Committee invites abstracts focusing on clinical management, treatment challenges, nurse leadership, strategies / initiatives to engage patients in care and coinfection. Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Researchers, Policy Makers and anyone who supports change in the community are welcome to submit abstracts that align with the theme of the conference. We hope to engage attendees in rich discussion that will allow for ideas to flourish, knowledge to be shared and for new directions to emerge.

The abstract and workshop deadline is January 30, 2019. Abstracts can be submitted in either English or French, however due to the high costs of on-site conference translation and low user uptake, all presentations must be conducted in English. Notification concerning the acceptance of abstracts will be provided to the corresponding author by February 25th, 2019.
