Job Posting: Data Collector, Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation

The Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation provides compassionate HIV care for people living with significant health and social issues including mental illness, trauma, addictions, unstable housing and poverty.

Through its day health, 24-hour care residence and enhanced supportive housing programs, the Dr. Peter Centre provides healthy meals, counselling, therapies, nursing, and a safe place for peer socialization and support. This integrated model of care successfully engages individuals in their health care, improving adherence to HIV treatment and overall health.

We are currently looking for a part time (3 days per week) Data Collector to join our Knowledge Translation & Evaluation Team.

 

Position Description and Duties

Reporting to the Knowledge Translation & Evaluation Coordinator, the Data Collector provides services in support of data collection activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting, collating, and consolidating data for reporting for several different programs;
  • Developing a framework for the data collection process;
  • Assisting with a quality improvement process for data collecting and reporting.

Required Competencies:

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., working with pivot tables, using advanced functions);
  • Experience working with quantitative data;
  • Demonstrated project management skills;
  • Understanding of HIV-specific measures and indicators;
  • Ability to perform literature reviews;
  • Ability to work independently and produce reports with a high level of accuracy;
  • Understanding of quality improvement processes.

General Working Conditions:

This position requires flexibility and the ability to prioritize workload, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where demands and deadlines may change with short notice. Multitasking and flexibility is a must in order to meet deadlines, and to support many activities that may occur concurrently or without notice. Evening and weekend work may be required. 

 

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

The preferred education, qualifications and experience of the Data Collector are:

  • Masters (or Bachelors with 2 years’ experience) in one of the following or related fields: public health, sciences, epidemiology, public administration, social sciences, or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
