Living Positive Resource Centre Move

UPDATED (Please note there was an error in the May 29 newsletter when we mentioned 2 locations)

To Our Partners, Members, Stakeholders and the Community We Serve.

A new Executive Director, followed by the nomination of a brand-new Board of Directors provides us with an extraordinary opportunity to reflect on the past, to celebrate our successes, and to look to the future. While the organization began as a small AIDS Service Organization, our community reach has expanded to hundreds of supporters, which shape the agency’s programs, services, and the direction of our organization. While acknowledging the potential challenges to non-profit organizations, Living Positive Resource Centre has responded by becoming a vital Centre in the combat against the opioid crisis. The inspiring trajectory of our organization offers a glimpse into the potential for an inspiring facility, which showcases a tremendously talented pool of staff and our exceptional programming. It is with great anticipation and pleasure to let you know that by May 1st, 2018 we will be relocating our services to two different locations to better suit the needs of our growing community and our existing clients.

Our new downtown head office location is 255 Lawrence Avenue and our phone number remains the same at 778-753-5830. Our primary email address is also still the same [email protected]

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we no longer have our previously planned satellite location at 170 Rutland Road. Fortunately, the Supervised Consumption Services unit will continue to operate in Rutland from 7pm-11pm seven days a week. If you require bulk harm reduction supplies please visit our new location at 255 Lawrence Avenue after May 1st, 2018.

Since 1992, Living Positive Resource Centre has served as a key resource for our local and regional community. Continuing a legacy of programming, on and off-site education, and free and accessible harm reduction supplies year-round. After over 26 years, we are proud to continue a tradition of excellence by providing public awareness and education to reduce the effects left by HIV, Hepatitis C, and other sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections and challenge stigma. As we move forward we have the task of strengthening our organization with a strategic plan which will be informed by community feedback and extensive consultation to help clarify our work and overall direction of the organization in conjunction with our move downtown.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff, I invite you to participate in our planning and share in our excitement about next steps and a new Downtown location. We look forward to the years to come with an organization through a permanent facility, which truly provides support to the community it serves.

Warm regards,

Candice Berry
Executive Director
