The three latest additions to our KnowledgeConnect webinar series are now open for registration, so sign up and get them into your calendars!
Wednesday September 13: What Do You Need to Know About the Good Samaritan Overdose Act?
The Good Samaritan Overdose Act became law in May 2017 to encourage people to call 911 in the case of a drug overdose without the fear of charge or arrest. Caitlin Shane of Pivot Legal Society will take us through information about what the Good Samaritan Act does and doesn’t cover in terms of protection.
Wednesday September 27: What’s New on HIV and Aging? Aging with HIV will (thanks to advanced treatments) be something many people with HIV will face. Kate Murzin of national centre Realize will take us through some of the latest information about the complex relationships between aging with HIV.
The overdose crisis continues unabated in BC, a tragedy that continues to unfold. Dr. Christy Sutherland and Wendy Stevens, who work on the front lines, will present information on the use of naloxone and opioid substitution therapies as well as the importance of wraparound care and community development.
We expect upcoming additions to include
- a series on making evaluation work for you, not just as a reporting requirement
- a series on preliminary results from our community-based research projects
