The BC People Living with HIV Stigma Index (the Stigma Index) is a dynamic research project in British Columbia, born out of a community-identified need to turn the tide against persistent HIV stigma and discrimination. Linked to the international HIV Stigma Index initiative, it is the first ever community-based research (CBR) study in British Columbia to document experiences of stigma and discrimination from the perspective of people living with HIV.

The BC People Living with HIV Stigma Index, community-based research team at the Pacific AIDS Network, is currently recruiting people living with HIV/AIDS from across the province to participate in interviews for this study. If someone decides to take part in the study and is eligible, they will be offered $35 for participation, in addition to childcare costs for the interview and bus travel reimbursement if needed. Participation will involve one interview lasting 1.5 to 2 hours. The interview will involve a range of questions regarding experiences of stigma and discrimination in relation to HIV status.

We invite you to have a look at the recruitment poster here! We would also appreciate it if you could forward this information as well as the poster to your contacts and colleagues throughout British Columbia.

If you would like more information on recruitment please contact the project manager at 604 569 1998 or [email protected].
