Help us raise awareness about how HIV impacts aging and older adults in Canada: Join our World AIDS Day Social Media Campaign!

Purpose:

Our goal is to raise awareness of the experiences, needs and issues facing older adults living with and vulnerable to HIV in Canada.

The idea behind a coordinated social media campaign is to maximize the reach of our messages. If many members of the NCC post these messages on the same day, at approximately the same time, we increase the chance that more people will see at least one of our posts.

Instructions:

1. Each set of messages below (organized by theme) is linked to a specific date during the week leading up to World AIDS Day 2015 (Wed Nov 25 to Tues Dec 1st). Each individual message is linked to a specific time of day.

2. Each day, cut and paste the corresponding messages to your personal and/or organizational (seek permission from leadership, of course!) Twitter and Facebook accounts at approximately the pre-determined time in your local time zone.

3. There are many messages (2-3 per day). Did you know you can make your life easier by pre-scheduling your Tweets? There are free online programs that allow you to do this (Twuffer.com) – and the best part is that you can do it from the ‘big screen’ of your computer where you can cut and paste easily, instead of from your smart phone.

4. If you are not able to post the message at the specified time, you can always “like” or retweet the message from another NCC member’s feed if you come across it online.
