World AIDS Day, Indigenous AIDS Awareness Week, and World Hepatitis Day

World AIDS Day and Indigenous AIDS Awareness Week

The initial World AIDS Day in 1988 marked the first ever global health day. For decades now, people around the world come together on December 1 to support the fight against HIV/AIDS, and to remember and honour those we have lost to AIDS. Indigenous AIDS Awareness Week (until 2020, known as Aboriginal AIDS Awareness Week) runs December 1-7, to educate about HIV health related issues for Indigenous communities and to advocate against stigma and health inequities.

Each year PAN compiles a list of World AIDS Day and Indigenous AIDS Awareness Week events and resources to share with our community partners and various levels of governments. View year by year:

World Hepatitis Day

World Hepatitis Day (July 28) aims to advocate for awareness of hepatitis, the importance of access to testing and treatment and the responsibility the world shares for making change. PAN lists World Hepatitis Day events to share with our community partners and various levels of governments.
