The Otto Bremer Foundation recently commissioned Michael Quinn Patton to create a set of Evaluation Flash Cards that present a one-page description of basic evaluation concepts. There are a total of 25 flash cards that address a range of topics, from logic models to developmental evaluation. The Otto Bremer Foundation explains that the flash cards can help organizations:
- Understand what constitutes a good evaluation and appreciate the purposes and strengths of different types of evaluation
- Create clear, ‘SMART’ program goals and meaningful performance targets
- Understand what claims of effectiveness are worth paying attention to
- Distinguish opinions and hypotheses from high-quality lessons that constitute actionable knowledge
