AIDS Vancouver Seeks Grant Researcher and Writer

Posted in: Job Posting

AIDS Vancouver LogoAIDS Vancouver opened its doors in 1983 as the first AIDS service organization in Canada and in response to the growing need for community health organizations to support individuals vulnerable to the epidemic. AIDS Vancouver plays a special role in providing quality health care to people affected by HIV/AIDS living in the Lower Mainland. It is clearly more than just a community health care organization. It is an organization whose presence and continued strength is essential to the quality for life of this community and of each individual and family who draws on its services. Our Agency is a vital community asset which everyone affected by HIV/AIDS can share, and in which we all have a stake.

AIDS Vancouver is currently seeking a Grant Writer for a four to six-month contract beginning June 1, 2017. Special emphasis in this position will be placed on finding grants to support prevention programs and services that were previously funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Grant Writer will assemble and submit grant requests, establish relationships with foundations, conduct prospect research and maintain/report on a calendar of submissions and other deadlines.

This is a fast-paced position with high volume expectations over a relatively short period of time. After a four-month review, the Grant Writer position will be reassessed for possible extension, dependent upon his/her success.
